As part of the ongoing collaboration between partner schools, pupils from Eastbourne College mentor 30 Year 11 pupils from Willingdon Community School, offering support for their maths studies as they build towards their GCSEs. This weekly group, called Roy’s Homework Club after Mr Lawson’s dog Roy, is one part of the intervention many of these Year 11 pupils receive, and each year to-date has seen a marked improvement in their performance – both for those aiming for level 5 and for level 9.
Eastbourne College also runs similar online sessions in Spanish and French for local partner schools.
