Reconnect Group-Outdoor Learning

Following on from our (several) rambles along the Jubilee Way over the past 2 years, the pupils from the Reconnect group have really got to know the surrounding area and the challenges it faces. The CSP are very fortunate that this has lead to a collaboration between ourselves and Ecotecture, a local Ecological Design company who specialise in sustainable and environmental architecture. One of the many ideas that has materialised from the pupils input into what they would like to see happen along the Jubilee Way, is an accessible outdoor learning area/Amphitheatre. So we invited Joanna and Babatunde to work with our pupils and create some ideas.

The feedback was immense and an impressive list of concepts evolved from this workshop in May. Here are some of the ideas:

Purposes
Play
Public speaking
Eating
Trails & Hunts

Star gazing
Market-place
Concerts
Open air cinema
Painting
Arts based

These ideas will be taken away by Ecotecture for them to create some design ideas on how we could implement this into an environmentally sustainable resource, for everyone to use when visiting the South Downs National Park.

A huge thank you to Joanna Saady & Babatunde Ibrahim from Ecotecture – www.ecotecture.co.uk
