Emerging Exhibition at the Birley Centre

In collaboration with the Costal Schools Partnership programme, Bexhill Academy Art Department were lucky enough to be invited to exhibit our artwork created firstly for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June 2022. The Emerging exhibition, an Art installation based on environmental themes. Sadly due to unforeseen weather over the Platinum Jubilee weekend the event was postponed.  Our students at Bexhill Academy made Birds in Flight from recycled packaging materials and milk cartons. The birds made are typically from the Eastbourne coastal area. In September we were invited to exhibit the work at the Undercroft at Eastbourne College it was hung and looked amazing.  Sadly once again the weather turned and a freak storm nearly blew all the birds away!

Incredibly in January 2023, Eastbourne College offered the Birley Centre to exhibit the Emerging Exhibition that at last would open to the public, with no chance of the weather thwarting us! A spectacular and professional exhibition showcasing our students Artwork work from our coastal schools community.

I hope you agree a very professional exhibition that showcased all our students’ artwork very well. We at Bexhill Academy, are very lucky to be part of the Coastal Schools Partnership, alongside several schools in Eastbourne. To allow our students to exhibit their Artwork in the Birley Centre Eastbourne College is an amazing opportunity for all. A huge thank you to Eastbourne College and the Coastal Schools Partnership for organising all of these events, please next time can you also sort the weather!
